A Prayer (Ps. 141)

 LORD, I call on You.

Give me a voice to utter prayers You hear

And hands that lift in praise,

A mouth that opens in worship of You,

Guarded in all it says.

Give me a heart inclined to good

And friends who won’t leave me alone in my sin.

Give me ears that won’t refuse to hear their rebuke

And a mind that accepts instruction.

Let my eyes be ever looking on You

Even when things look bleak.

Let every part of me be washed and clean,

Kept pure as I seek You.

Be my refuge, LORD, and all my strength,

As I pass safely through this world.

As I read through the Word over and over again, I find in my heart a constant song, a rejoicing within that has to come out, and sometimes the song is so strong I must write it down, get it out. That's what I have been doing a great bit of this past year. Writing down the songs and singing them loudly when I am alone. God is good and greatly to be praised!

I find prayers for every situation from the Word given by God. I find joy that One so great would provide a way for me to spend eternity with Him through Christ Jesus. I find in me nothing good that would warrant His salvation of me. I find myself amazed at His glory and goodness and grace, and I find myself drawn ever more toward Him as I learn more about Him, soaking and steeping in His Word daily. Honestly, I have nothing to contribute but my journey toward Him, but I encourage You to continue or begin your own. The climb is worth it even when it is a struggle, the view amazing, the rest eternal, and the reward Christ Himself. :)
